Our Bottom Line - If You're Good Enough, You're Old Enough

The Future of Science and Research
At Mangosteen, our focus is firmly on the future.  So, we place as much emphasis on attracting the big names of tomorrow as we do on attracting those that are well-established, esteemed or famous today.

Today many of the future professors and industry leaders that we seek to attract are either working for a Ph.D. or engaged in postdoctoral research, just a couple of years away.

If you are an early career scientist, maybe you are wondering what we can offer you now that we have your attention?

We're All About Equality and Being Given a Chance
As far as we are concerned, you are an equal with the 'bug guys', the old Profs, industry's group leaders and the likes.

If you can satisfy us that you are a committed, talented and responsible individual, we will happily involve you in the design and implementation of our Meetings in the same way that we would if you were your boss.

Open Application & Full Participation
Which all means that of course we welcome your full and equal participation in any of our Meetings.  We have an open procedure, without strict application requirements.  You will not be denied a place in favour of someone deemed to be more senior, more important or with a greater number of publications or patents.  That is not our way.

Propose & Structure Your Own Meeting
The strength of our Meeting Calendar lies in the suggestions and interests of others.

We are always looking for new and varied fields of research to serve as the basis for future Meetings.  If there's a Meeting you'd like to see added to the calendar but which you don't have the capacity to organize, please let us hear about it - if your idea is a good one, we'll do our very best to make it happen.

The first step is to let us know about your idea by email.  The second is to advise you that you can play as great or as little a role in determining the Meeting's programme format as you please  If it appeals, you can take the opportunity to serve as the Meeting's Technical Programme Designer .  We'll organize it for you, but we'll not take it out of your hands unless you want us to.

Equally, if you'd like to play a role in determining the format of an existing Meeting, that's also a possibility.

Chair a Meeting - It'll Certainly Help Your Resume/Curriculum Vitae
Here's another way to look at things.

Whether you're about to finish your degree, coming towards the end of a postdoc and in the process of applying for jobs, trying to get established in a new field or just thinking ahead, it certainly won't do you any harm to make a few more contacts by getting your name out there as the person responsible for establishing an innovative new Meeting in the field of your choice.

If successful, and should you so wish, it's entirely possible that you can turn it into a regular periodic or annual event in the same Host Destination or in a new one.

Our Bottom Line - If You're Good Enough, You're Old Enough
If you're good enough, you're old enough.  You don't need to be in a permanent position for us to recognize your potential.

If any aspect of what we do appeals to you, we greatly value your interest.  If there's anything we can do to nurture that and help you to get involved in scientific problem solving, most specifically but not exclusively, connected to the developing world, then please do let us know.
