Venue:
Rwanda Quality of Life Centre is
organising The International Workshop on Quality of Life issues will be
convened at The Hotel des Mille Collines, Kigali City, Rwanda. The date
will be issued later.
The International Workshop on
Quality of Life issues will have Scientific lectures on the following
topics:
1. Conceptualizing quality of
life, health-related quality of life: definition,
dimensions;
2. Quality of life indicators,
development of society and community health promotion;
3. Relationship of health status
to quality of life;
4. Measuring quality of life:
principles, types of instruments (global, generic,
specific);
5. Uses of quality of life
instruments;
6. Translation and validation of
quality of life instruments: cultural adaptation,
psychometric evaluation;
7. Choosing a quality of life
instrument;
8. Quality of life research:
problems, standards, perspectives;
9. Data analysis: data cleaning
and interpretation.

Payments and Cancellations:
Payments should be made in
United States Dollars for foreigners and in local currency for
nationals. All cancellations must be received in writing and all refunds
will be paid after the Workshop.
Registration Fees:
Registration fees = US$ 200
Student delegates with a valid
Student's Identity Card are offered a free registration.
Mode of payment of registration
fees is indicated on the registration form.
Please note that all costs
related to the money transfer will be at the transmitter's charge.
A receipt will be issued upon
receiving your payment.
The registration fee includes:
- free access to all sessions of
the Workshop, at the workshop venue.
- the Workshop material
(programme of the workshop, book of abstracts, and other
material/documents)
- two daily coffee breaks
- meals will be provided to all
delegates at the workshop
Exhibition:
Exhibition space will be
available on a rental basis. Interested organizations and enterprises
should contact the Rwanda QOL Centre Secretariat for further details.
Conference Language:
The official language of the
workshop is English and there is no simultaneous translation.
Hotel accommodations
The workshop will take place at
the Hotel des Mille Collines. RWQOL has arranged the special sleeping
room rates with several hotels, ranging from $80 US to $200 US per night
plus tax for RWQOL workshop attendees. All hotels are within 20 minutes
of the Workshop Venue by public transport, and are also close to
shopping, cultural, and tourist attractions! Please contact the RWQOL

Transportation
The Kigali International Airport
is serviced by the world's leading airlines so it is easy to reach
Kigali from any major city. And when you land, you are only 40 minutes
away from the heart of downtown.
Visa requirements:
Entry visas to Rwanda are
required for all foreign nationals. Nationality, Passport number and
expiry date must be communicated in the appropriate section of the
registration form, for submission to the National Bank of Rwanda. Visa
details may be emailed to us at a later date.
Social events
• A welcome reception
will be held on the first day of the Workshop. This reception is
included with the workshop registration fee.
• A social dinner will
be held on the last day. This dinner is included in the registration
fee.
Accompanying persons are invited
to attend these two events but they should have informed before.
